The Artisan Recipe Route
Your
Guide

Recipes for both Italian food and bread can be found by clicking on a left hand menu item, or on a Link inserted into a page.  The Bread Page is link which takes you to a brief discussion and then to the descriptions and recipes for bread.  The Food Page is a Recipe link goes directly into the Italian recipe area.  Each other page provides links to Articles, bot technical and otherwise which relate to Italian foods.  If you cannot find a food item, try the Resource Page.

Please note that all of these areas change regularly. Additions, changes and corrections are made routinely. Should you want a recipe that you cannot find on the site, please drop us a line and we will try to find it for you.

We have added a number of new recipes. These were last added on, or a bit before April 9,  1999.  These include a Tort of Mixed Greens, a Risotto with Red Onions,  a Zucchini Pasticcio(Casserole) and a dish sent to us from a dear friend and great cook in Umbria, Pettole Barisi.  New bread recipes include Ciabatta and Pane Patate (Potato Bread)  We added  Schiaciatta, Piadina and Torta sul Testo  a month or so ago.  A Flour Test piece has been added to complement our Flour Treatise. The latter is technical, but a must for serious bread bakers, while the former shows that all flours are not created equal.

Please keep checking as we will add more bread recipes as well as fresh vegetable recipes. The Artisan Vegetable Garden  produced quite a few fall  and winter vegetables and the Spring garden is partially planted already.  We are planting Lettuces, Cabbages, Tomatoes, Peppers, Zucchini, Potatoes, Eggplants and more.    As they grow and are harvested, we will be preparing new dishes for posting on The Artisan.  Actually, the Torta d'Erbette Miste is made from mostly Artisan Garden vegetables.  We also planted 96 heads of lettuce, dandelions and radicchio.  We are harvesting them now...Some will go into soup, some into pies and some will get stuffed!

Click on the The New Stuff button for these & other new recipes.  To access all recipes,  click on  the Table of Contents - The Bread Page on The Artisan to access the bread section  and on The Food Page Table of Contents.
